What LAU Counseling Offers

LAU Counseling is there from the moment you step into university, helping you manage the emotional weight of the school-to-college transition, and continues to support you throughout your academic years. It equips you with essential tools to effectively manage and maintain your mental health.

Sessions are strictly confidential and free of charge for all currently enrolled students. They are typically scheduled once a week and may extend over several weeks, depending on the objectives you set together with your counselor.

When Should You Seek Help?

Feeling overwhelmed or unable to manage your emotions
Anxiety, fear, or persistent anger affecting your daily life
Having suicidal thoughts or feelings of hopelessness
Exposure to physical, sexual, or emotional abuse
Difficulty sleeping or experiencing appetite problems
Significant or unexplained changes in mood
Relationship difficulties or grief after a loss
A decline in academic performance or difficulty concentrating

Together with your counselor, you will go over the challenges impacting your daily life and productivity. Your counselor will help you better understand your situation and explore healthier, more effective ways to manage your stressors.

The counselor will help you identify the main objectives for your sessions, which will be evaluated and adjusted on an ongoing basis as you make progress.
